I don't care at all but I am an analyzer by nature so I think about what Apple is doing here. To me it seems foolish, preaching to the choir and a waste of money since most people do not choose a computer platform based on user image. If there is any general concept we can say about the 2 platforms it is that Windows is preferred by gamers and Mac is preferred by creaters (artists, photographers, graphic designers). But even that is an over-simplification.

Nonetheless, I know that Apple Computer would not continue the ads unless they have some market data that shows they are effective. This company is staffed by some brilliant minds who would not just flounder around to try to sell their products. They test every ad carefully so somehow the campaign must be doing some good for Apple. This is, after all, the fastest growing brand of computers (not iPod, mind you, but computers) in the world.

One answer: "snagging computer illiterates into buying a product that the majority of the world is not falling for. it works... right out of the box... and then you still pay to get programming that you need." The majority of the world is inclined to keep on with whatever they have had and that includes Apple customers. People don't change their brand loyalty easily. Dell has good brand loyalty from their customers and Apple has the industry's highest level of brand loyalty and a reputation for faster work production in actual use so they are not crap. This attitude reminds me of the Ford vs Chevy hating that was common when I was a kid. Personally, I have worked for both Apple and Dell and owned both brands. I still use Windows and Mac on an ongoing basis

Everyone still pays to get the applications that you need. Dell doesn't ship Microsoft Office for free.

I love em' i think that they are hilarious because i have a Mac. The last one i saw was the best so far about making movies and the mac gets the model and the PC gets the man in the dress. However, if i were a PC user i would be very upset by these commercials because i was portrayed as an middle aged, out-of-style guy...

that is all portion of the Steve Jobs RDF (actuality distortion field) that persuades people of issues that are patently untrue. although, i locate the 'Mac' pretentious, self-righteous and in many cases unlikeable whilst the 'computing device' is the form of guy you will not techniques assembly. It persuades me to not get entangled with Macs. yet then, I under no circumstances have enjoyed Steve Jobs. BTW, IBM is the two a application and a hardware business enterprise. It does nevertheless produce computers and notebooks like the T60. It supplies you outsourced IT centers and assorted application applications.

I think there is truth to it.

I like the PC because it's easier to install/uninstall things yourself. I'm used to this platform.

Mac, however, has a lot of more advances. I wonder when the PC is going to catch up and stop having a tower.

I think they were humorous at first, now they're just boring. it's just apples way of trying to edge it's market share upwards by snagging computer illiterates into buying a product that the majority of the world is not falling for. it works... right out of the box... and then you still pay to get programming that you need.
