I need ideas for a scary story that aren't too gory. I need to wow my teacher! Please help!

A story of a high school student that comes back 9 years later to ruin the lives of his/her tormentors. Could be ruin lives or kill. Then there is a classmate who is a detective who has to find the killer. Need a scene where the detective finds the killer's room with a yearbook, and there is red marker crossing out victims.

I once watched this show that had a guy fishing, then he finds this apple next to him in a lunch pail he had, after taking a bit of the apple he started getting pulled into the water. The fish were fishing him. It was the scariest thin g I had ever watched. I still wont eat an apple I get from halloween.
Or you can write about a haunted house that the ghosts actually give out candy to trick or treaters. that way you can make it as scary as you want it too be.

hmmm try not to copy a story and just replace different words but maybe make up an explanation for something like why some people are scared to walk by a grave yard make up something by explaning why they are
