Assuming he's not just making things up, he might be talking about a recent study that suggested that overweight men might have lower sperm counts. An overview of the study is here:
http://www.kaisernetwork.org/daily_reports/rep_index.cfm?DR_ID=20422

However, the sample size of the study was small (500) and it is possible that health issues related to size might be to blame, not size itself.

The idea that he's totally infertile just because he's big is ridiculous. Plenty of big guys are fathers. Doctors won't even consider seeing someone for infertility until they've been trying to get pregnant for a year, so if he's in that position, he might want to see a (real) doctor. However, if he's not actively trying and failing, tell him not to worry, chances are that he'll be perfectly able to conceive when he's ready to.

His sperm will be fine. Being overweight gets blamed on a lot of health realted ailments. If he was really massive then the penis may struggle to penetrate enough, however there are positions he could adopt to get deeper penetration.

But the question on the liveliness of his seed, I would say overweight has nothing to do with it.

Being kinda overweight will not prevent a man from being able to father a child.

for some people this is true. usually the person has to be really overweight in order to not be able to make babies. i think it is more serious for a woman to be overweight.

WOW. If his uncle is a doctor than he must be very stupid. I know plenty of guys who are overweight and they have alot of kids. My uncle is the same size of Reuben, the r&b singer, and America Idol singer, he has four kids.

Health can definitly be a factor involved in the ability or inability to get pregnant... a friend of mine tried for a year, but couldn't get pregnant... but when she found out that the caffeine drinks she drank could prevent it, she quit drinking it & got pregnant right away!
