I am curious about this moon visit in 1969. I have seen a documentary stating that the trip was a HOAX, that it is scientifically impossible for man to leave earth's atmosphere without dying. The pictures were taken in a photo studio. What do you think?

Although my wife's father performed fuel calculations for the original Apollo landing, I'll spare you that speech. Instead, I will encourage you to watch two programs. The first show is called Conspiracy Moon Landing that it currently showing on the National Geographic Channel and it pretty much obliterates all of the popular conspiracy theories.

I would also encourage you to watch a movie called Capricorn One. Made it 1978, it is a fictional story about a fake mission to Mars. Although it is a science fiction story, it is a good example of how utterly impossible it would be to fake a moon landing for any length of time.

12 men walked on the moon from 1969 to 1972 and we have neither the resources nor the technology to pull off that big of a hoax for so long. Hundreds of thousands of people have worked on the space program. It would be far easier to put someone on the moon than to try and fake it and keep it secret for nearly 40 years.

The landings came at a time when our space program was ultra competitive with the former Soviet Union. Remember how big of a deal it was when Sputnik was put into orbit? They had the technology to monitor our moon shots and transmissions. Don't you think they would have called us out if they had evidence that it was all fake?

Perhaps the most definitive proof of our trip to the moon is what we left behind. For the last 35+ years, scientists have been beaming lasers to the moon and measuring the return times. How are they doing this? The beams are reflected back by equipment left on the moon on at 3 different locations.

Case closed.

That 'proof' is crapola. Take a picture of the moon tonight. Then look for stars in that photo. GEE! It MUST have been staged!!! There is a mirror that the Apollo 11 astronauts set up in 1969. It has proven not only that we were there, but that the moon is moving away from the earth about 1-1/2 inches per year. As to why we haven't been back, that's because Armstrong and Aldrin were informed in no uncertain terms by the aliens who watched the landing from a few dozen yards away that we were NOT to make a habit of going there. There are websites that tell THAT story too!

This question comes back so often, I am thinking of making a cut and paste answer for it.

No, it was not staged; it really happeend. If it was staged, you can be sure the Russians would have proved it to be a hoax to humiliate the US.
And the Russians were waaaay more sophisticated than all these "conspiracy theorists" who keep bring up the same fake (and already so often rebutted) arguments.

It is impossible to leave the atmosphere and survive, yes, IF you are naked. But astronauts wear a SPACE SUIT, and are in a pressurized cabin.

Why is it not possible to leave earth's atmosphere without dying? The fact that we have astronauts in the space station right now already disproves one of your assumptions.

Actually, there was more than one moon landing.

Could it have been staged? Yes, but the fact that it could have been doesn't automatically mean it was. How do you maintain a cover up?

The Soviets had already beat us into space.
If our country chose to make only movies in response to the Soviet challenge how secure from a military stand point would that make our nation?

As there have been quite a numbers of astronauts, both from the former Soviet block as well as here in the good old USA that have left our atmosphere, not to mention living on orbiting space stations for extended periods so personally I find the whole hoax proposition to be nothing more than grandstanding in order to make a buck.Sure, I can't tell you how it was done but then again NASA hasn't been beating down my door to hire me either! When we put someone on Mars maybe the skeptics will finally lay down and call it quits, but till then use your own judgment and leave the conspiracy theories where they belong...in the National Enquirer.

we went to the moon if you ever get a chance to look threw a big telescope you can see some of the stuff we left there like the bottom of the lander . a little electric car . it wasnt a hoax . the pictures just look like that the lander had large arms all around it they extended out so nasa could get a view of how the mission was going .

It was staged by NASA
a fellow Ohioan Neil Armstrong landed there
I always here the most uneducated people are the ones who don't believe it took place

Here's a good website that debunks just about every moon hoax theory: http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/tv/foxapollo.html

Whenever you see something about conspiracy theories, you should look at them with a very critical eye.
