Yes, I am a proud card caring member of the ACLU. Since the recent suspension of the writ of habeas corpus...Oh damn, now even they may not be able to save us.

The shaking that you see is from anger. We get angry because the ACLU is nothing more than a Liberal tool to undermine religious freedom. You're the people who sensor teachers from teaching intelligent design and demand they preach evolution, even though evolution is factually less credible than the theory of Jesus. At least there are historical accounts that Jesus actually lived. Evolution is disproved everyday. In fact, the ACLU even sued a school distract for over $1 million dollars because a teacher taught his students about some chinese findings that suggested that the creatures that existed before the Cambrian period (which is the period in the fossil record that shows an abundant explosion of the species we have today and not a gradual change like Darwing lied about) were in fact easily and readily fossilized and that they amounted to nothing more than worms and sponges. Before this discovery, liberals at the ACLU were peddling Darwin's lies on the basis that the organisms that existed pre-Cambrian were soft bodied creatures and not easily fossilized. The teacher never even mentioned anything about any God. He just simply taught something that the ACLU didn't want to get out because it horribly discredited everything they were pushing as fact and because of it that school district will most likely have to file for bankruptacy. Those children will suffer for your beliefs. Still happy to belong to the ACLU?
If you believe in these things so much I make a challenge right here and now!
I challenge any liberal to pick up and read Ann Coulter's book, Godless: the Church of Liberalism, check the references she lists in the back and prove her wrong. If you refuse you are either scared of what you might learn, or happy in your ignorance.

Surprise - I am an Independent that leans to the right on many occasions - and a fully-vested member of the ACLU.
Do I agree with all of the individual cases taken up by the ACLU? Of course not, some of them are outright revolting and disgusting.
Do I agree with the ACLU's primary objectives of protecting and securing my individual rights? You bet I do !

No I'm not proud to be a member of ACLU because I'm not a member of said organization. I cannot imagine an ACLU member not being proud to be a member - why then would one maintain membership? That's like GWB saying he's not proud to be a Republican.

I would suppose it would depend on whether you needed them or not; they defend the helpless and the hopeless. Albeit, everyone can come up with a rant against the ACLU; nobody will when they need them.
Many card carrying members would support a 'Watchdog' that would honestly go to bat against the erosion of our civil rights..the only one with teeth is the ACLU. Unfortunately, folks can't pick and choose which 'rights' and whose 'rights' they wish to protect.
Justice is supposed to be blind. Few folks have have that sense of justice.

It is a mistaken view that you need to be a lawyer to belong to the A,C,L,U, and when it was originated it was a very good organization, but, it has been run over by commies and libs etc and is no longer a good organization , however, if enough decent people would join and regain control it would be a great organization again, then they would not be trying to destroy our religious foundations, boy scouts, just to name a few,think about it wouldn't it be great if we had them fighting for the American way? and no I am not proud at this point in time,

How can I be proud when I am not or never would be a member of ACLU? I am a Democrat that wishes the ACLU would go away.

yeah your proud of using interns and milking the government for lawyer fees of 500.00 a hour that a lawyer hasn't touched ! your day is coming! i have a Friend who works in the office at one of the a.c.l.u.'s and has been reporting to the fbi for 3 years on these violations and thefts,soon my Friend soon! you love to use students for all of your leg work and milk the government for a billion a year!
