Nothing in nature is perfect, so there's no way it's exactly 50/50. Also China's forced abortion is helping to sway the ratio of m/f there, since nobody wants their only child to be a girl. Also men are more likely to do stupid crap that will get them killed.

I think it is around the 54% female to 46% male mark.
However, the statistics do change with regard to different age groups. In other words, the 5 to 6 year old group, will be different to 55 to 60 year old group.

Males tended to die young but science has reduced this. Also more males get killed in wars and so on than females SO nature has compensated by more males than females being born but we still haven't caught up!
