people often wonder if its possible to one day time travel (as in Dr Who),well i reckon if we could ever do that we would know by now simply because anyone who achieves this in the future would have come back in time and told us by now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are correct. Check out an article by the noted s/f author Larry Niven: The Theory and Practice of Time Travel. His postulate is that if time travel is possible, then eventually enough time travellers inthe future changing enough things in the past will eventually change something critical resulting in a universe where time travel will never be invented. In other words, only if time travel is impossible will a functioning time travel device be built.

Before you can apply your theory, you will first have to disprove Albert Einstein's time graphs - which indicate that the future does not exist at the present - only the constant march of time can bring us into the future. And, based on all of his other valid and verified musings, there's no reason to believe he was wrong on this one either.
What a bummer, eh? Time travel is such an intriguing and thought provoking concept - don't you just hate it when someone pees on your cornflakes?

Theoretically, time travel is only possible to the future. When you travel at a speed close to the speed of light, time moves slowlier for you with respect to those who don't move at that speed. However, you can't travel back in time, only to the future. Therefore there would be know one to comeback and tell you that time travel is possible.

How do we know that they are not among us right now, changing things for a better future? Maybe Goerge Bush is from the future and has come back because in HIS future, Islamic extremists won, and everybody is subject to Shereeah (don't know how to spell that, don't care how to spell that) law. Or maybe I have come back from the future to reply to your question on a dare. Or maybe, YOU have come to us from the future asking this question because you are not allowed to actually SAY that you are from the future.
How would you know one way or the other if it was happening?

Perhaps the energy cost to time travel into the past is proportional to how much you alter the timeline. As a result, the time travelers who have come here keep time travel a secret.

I have time shift on my DVB. I stop the recording - the same as stopping time. Or I can go back through what I've recorded - the same as going back through time. if you stop time or go back - then you can go forward. You are right that people from the future haven't time travelled back. but if in the future we have supercomputers that can record all events - a virtual reality like the Holodeck on Star trek - then we stop time or go back in the virtual recording and then we can go forward again. Only virtually though.

Good theory, wrong time it ain't happened yet , it will, We have a difference in time to the blackbird in flight, it flies at such an altitude and i think against the rotation of the planet, there IS a difference in time, it's miniscule BUT its there early stages!! IT WILL BE POSSIBLE 1 DAY.

Good point - although theu may not travel as far back as out current time or maybe they did and we just dont know about it so as not to change the future.
