Your Hunter ceiling fan has three controls: the fan speed, the fan direction, and the light (if it has one).

There is a small black switch on the side of the fan body. That's the direction switch. (So you can circulate warm air - downflow, or cool air - upflow). There's a pull chain that should change the fan speed: high, medium, low, and off.

If that pull chain doesn't change the fan's speed, it's probable that the switch is broken. The switch is plastic, and can be replaced with a generic switch from the hardware store for a couple of dollars.

Remember to turn off the power before replacing the switch.

If the ceiling fan is still under the warranty period then you can return it back to the store where u bought it to find out if it is for repair or replacement. If not, better call a repairman to check on your fan.

It sounds like a wiring problem. Are the housings grounded? Are the units connected with the right polarity? Find the instructions and read them; then dismantle one of the units at the attachment and see if it was done right.((Be sure the power is off, not just the switch, the whole circuit)). Good Luck.
