well you are responsible for the bill if she didn't pay it that is what co-signing means

Inform the collection agency that the statue of limitations to sue and collect on a debt is 2 years. By calling and harassing you, they are setting themselves up for a law suit. If that doesn't stop them from calling, call an attorney.

Because you co-signed you are responsible unless there is a stipulation in the divorce decree.

If you can not afford and attorney, I would suggest you make a payment plan with the company of file for chapter 11.

lol @ he claims he cant stand her and doesnt choose something to do along with her etc. are there infants in contact? does she might desire to apply that vehicle topersistent the infants around to college and appts? if not, then your bf remains stunning onto his ex way too a lot. how come that different guy she left your bf for isnt co-signing for the motor vehicle? if she left him 2 yrs in the past, did she call him immediately and he only suggested ok? or have they been in touch those previous 2 years? i think of there's a lot lacking to this tale. wish you gave greater information.

a dept from 10 years ago, well it must have been a big amount of $$$. you are the one that needs to pay the bill (only the balance after the sale of the car), being a co-signer is just that, if the signer fails to pay your the next in line. the only thing you have is reather the courts order her to pay for the car the two of you had a loan on together, if so you need to sent them a copy of the papers ordering her to pay the bill. final thought is you are the one that needs to pay for the car (dept).

I hope you were smart enough to put in the divorce that you were not responsible for her debts after ??? date. If so, fax a copy of this to the credit collection agency. Talk to a lawyer if it continues after that.

If you co-signed that makes you liable. However, they repo'd the car, so that should resolve the debt.
