Each woman will answer this differently as each one of us has a different threshold for pain, different types of labor (for example, back labor) and different preparation for the labor.
I was very lucky, my labor pains were not unbearable, they felt like strong menstrual cramps and I labored at home from a Friday night until Sunday afternoon. I went to the hospital about 20 minutes before my little guy was born!! It was awesome!!
Other woman have a much harder time, or a much more painful time of it. So....you will get a lot of descriptions of labor pain!!!

Well at first it starts out with your stomach just tightening a little without too much pain but then the contractions start getting worse and it is all over you entire belly, it feels like your whole stomach is just so tight that you can hardly breath, which seems like it can last a life time, then when you start pushing the pain isn't so bad in your stomach anymore cause you are focusing on pushing, when you are pushing it is like your pushing something out that just don't want to come and don't want to fit through that tiny little whole compared to the big head at least, sometimes it burns down their, but once the baby is out it is a huge relief on everything you can breath again and you have a bundle of joy to hold, at least that is what it was like for me.

intense pain and pressure....don't think you'll be able to 'blow the pain away'...think that was a load of bullox!!! lol
Mine was also one big contraction...had less than 30 seconds between each minute and a half long contraction, so didn't even get to catch my breath between each one....my pelvis had the worst pain, along with my lower back....thought I might die!!
However, I'd love to do it all again!! I must be crazy......

Well, mine felt like my pelvis was going to snap in half from the contractions. Most women, though, get a break in between contractions, at least for a little while. My labor was like ONE BIG CONTRACTION.

Like period pain, but bigger--much bigger. Imagine menstrual cramps with a 9-months-pregnant-sized uterus.
