its ok
you shoudl learn tho
its ok if you swim with the younger kids as long as you can somewhat swim
you might find yourself in a situation where you need to learn how to swim
join the swim lessons.. and if your with the little kids you will be swimming with you age kids in no tiem
remember not to be scared, when your first jump in you might be but remember there is a coach/lifeguard who is not going to let anyting happen to you
you will be safe
and also remember swimming is a tool you might find helpful in late life
i have been swimming since i was 2 and i have been on swim team since i was 9
good luck
hope this helps

Swimming lessons are good for all ages and it helps you learn more swim tactics rather then getting in some swimming pool and winging it. It may be a little embarrassing, but if you have some money private lessons are always an option. You can also invite some friends for a swim [those who know you can't swim may be better and more understanding considering the situation.] I'd say lessons are your best bet, but whatever you feel comfortable with is what you should do.

First thing type want you would say that we help you talk better and breath better while swimming. You are not that old, at our school we had to go to the local ymca to get swimming lessons. Now I am on a swim team and very good at it. You are not to old, find a ymca near you and they can help you out. If there is know local ymca's ask a very good friend that knows how to swim and have them teach you how to doggie paddle and work up from there. If that dosen't work, do it your self. The next time you are in a pool, stay in the shallow end and just walk around to get cofie and then start to float on your back and stomach. After you are comfetable, start kicking with your legs( any kind of kick will work) and then move your arms. Ask the lifeguard or your parents for some help and maybe they can tell you and maybe hold you for awail. DOn't feel bad I know someone who is 14 and dosen't know how to swim well, she just gets in the pool and walks around. Your best bet is to not put your head underneath the water til you feel you are ready. GO LUCK!

I have known how to swim since I was six years old. My advice is to go ahead and take those swimming classes. Sometimes facing your fears is a good thing...no matter how old you are.
