SWEETIE,
YES YOU SHOULD BE OUT OF THE CLEAR, AND IF THERE WAS TO BE A MISCARRIAGE YOU WILL NOTICE BUT DONT WORRY YOURSELF TO DEATH BECAUSE AS LONG AS YOUR GOING TO YOUR APPOINTMENTS AND GETTING YOUR ULTRASOUNDS DONE REGULARLY THAN YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO...
GOOD LUCK ON YOUR FIRST...

yes, you could still miscarry, but again, yes, you would notice because you would go into labor and give birth. There would be blood and the baby would come out. Smoking is very bad for the baby, so the less you smoke, the better for both of you. If you could quit, that would be the best of all, but try to smoke no more than 5 cigs. in a day. Anything that you can do to keep from smoking would give the baby just that much more chance of being born without health problems. Good luck!

It is true that the risk of miscarriage decreases once you hit the second trimester. However, the fear of something being wrong might not go away. That's a normal feeling that every new mother who has never experienced pregnancy goes through. I am a little concerned with your smoking though. Than can up the odds of something going wrong tremendously depending on how much you smoke. I am not here to criticize you so please don;t think so. There are plenty of women who smoke and have healthy babies. But on the flip side there are just as many who have smoked and have complications with their little one. That's more of the risk now. But in general if you didn't smoke I would say you are past the first major hurtle. Best of luck!

no, i don't think you could miscarry without noticing!
Although most miscarriages and pregnancy losses happen before the 12th week, some do occur after this time frame. My sister's first pregnancy was lost right around the 13th week...baby had stopped developing around week 9.
Chances are, things will go ok...though you should probably stop smoking completely...but I think you already know that!
Good luck and try not to stress about things!!

although a miscarriage is still possible after the first trimester it drastically decreases. all mothers worry whether it is your first or fifth. take comfort that all is going well. yes, if you have a miscarriage you will know it. try to cut back more and more every day with that smoking as you know smoking is not good for you or the baby

You're probably okay, but it is highly unusual for someone to have 4 ultrasounds by 13 weeks - that's when you usually have the first one! I would ask the doc why you've had so many, and find out if they suspect a problem.

i'd say u r fairly safe from miscarriage as long as u don't do anything stupid like ride a horse or go mountain climbing or anything super strenuous. u would certainly b better off if u quit smoking all together, just remember ur baby is smoking too. good luck.
