All my life I've said I wanted to be a doctor. I chose that career from an early age, I think because of the money you can make, but this profession takes a lot of dedication and time. It doesn't seem like the worst thing I could do, but I don't honestly know if I could do it. Medicine sort of interests me, but I am very creative and I have lots of other talents, especially in art and writing. I would pursue a career in one of those fields, but it's important to me that one day I be somewhat financially secure and I don't really want to struggle with money forever. What do you think?

There are many branches of medicine besides a doctor. Have you thought about a physical therapist? Especially in sports?

It's hard to break into writing and art as a lucrative career. I'd say do that on the side and pursue your dream of being in medicine in some way.

If you have knowledge of medicines you may want to take a different route like becoming a pharmacist, or tech, or pharmacy sales. If it's just the money, explore some other careers that go in line with your interests. Blowing glass, welder, mason, publisher, etc... Money is good for keeping a life going, but there's more to life than money.

You have to think about what you enjoy doing, money aside. If you can't stomach the blod, you'll never succeed as a doctor. Two tests you can use are the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

To become a doctor for the money doesn't cut it. I suggest that you pick a field, where you say you have other talents. I think you would be alot happier putting thoes talents in a buisness for yourself

You might want to bring this up with a career counselor, who will most likely give you one of those career assessment tests. Good luck!

If you can summon the internal strength, go for medicine. I didn't and I regret it. If not, learn computers. They're not going away and you'll always have work...
