yes...any defensive position can get in on the "sack attack". but primarily the defensive end is the designated qb killer.

Anyone on the defensive side of the ball is allowed to cross the line of scrimmage after the snap and rush the quarterback; most defensive schemes though only have the 3 to 5 down linemen rushing the quarterback. When anyone besides the Defensive Linemen rush, it is considered a blitz. You can blitz as many people as you want at any time, but be careful; send too many people in for the blitz and you won't have anyone to cover the rest of the field.

I will limit my answer to the interior offense line. Look at the college game for the example of the programs that do not draw the best talent year and year out. A good betting strategy would be to bet on the the major college teams with five fifth year seniors in O-line. Don't just look at the W-L record. Look at the quality of losses if the team is an middle level team in a strong conference like Big Ten or SEC. I do not read those football magazines to form an opinion. Ask someone who has played major college football. Not a sport writer.

the most common positions for rushing the quarterback is defensive end defensive tackle and linebackers although cornerbacks free safeties and strongsafeties do it as well but it depends on the teams defensive schemes and on the players involved because some defensive tackles for instance are not good passrushers but are better run defenders this goes for defensive ends as well as linebackers and some teams don't like blitzing there corners or safeties so depending on your abilities that's how you will be used by your coaches

Linebackers and defensive ends are the ones who most often get to the quarterback. The difference is that the ends line up on the line of scrimmage, while the backers are behind them.
