Turns on the heating element in the back window to get it clear if it fogs up. It has a timer and will go off automatically if you happen to forget about it once engaged. Look in the index for "Rear window defogger" and I'll bet you find it in the manual.

The push button makes the wires in the class get hot, as well as, the heaters in the doorside rearview mirrors.
