I am a walking electricity bolt! Granted, I live in the desert but I mean nobody believes how this is affecting my life. I am terrified to touch practically anything. My car has turned into a monster I have learned to open and close the car doors with my feet, but when I turn on the ignition I get a pretty hard shock. I can't touch anything. I have tried anti-static sprays and carrying static sheets with me but no luck. This static is taking over my life and I need help to live normally again. Somebody please help!

I should have mentioned that I have already tried changing my clothing by material to see if that changed it and I have had this problem wearing flip-flops, boots, high heels, sneakers, tennis shoes...bare feet! The shoes are not the problem and the clothes make no difference. I need help beyond those suggestions, thanks though!

The shoes are the problem here. Try changing them for some with a different type of sole material.

Some sole material on some surfaces generate static electricity when walking. It's particularly a problem in dry environments like where you are

You have probably figured you can't do much to prevent the generation of a static charge. What you can do is to minimize the effect the static discharge has. If you hold a piece of metal that has a lot of surface area next to your skin, the static charge passes through a larger skin area. The energy per square inch of skin is much less than when you touch an object with, say a fingertip. Try it with a quarter or a key.

:-). :-) :-). That is so humorous! I have noticeable static electrical power in mattress earlier than while it's bloodless and dry right here. I toss and switch plenty and the motion of my arm in opposition to the blanket will intent static. Remember how mostly we might get stunned in gymnasium magnificence, or getting out of a vehicle too rapid and getting stunned? Or even relocating throughout our carpeting rapidly and touching any one and also you get that little surprise? Static!

I would guess that you are dry...dry hair/ dry skin/ cracked feet...try humidifying your air and not taking hot showers...eat more fat and use more oils when cooking...you could take fish oil or any of the EFAs and see if that helps I have to say this is an enviornmental / physical issue not an electrical issue...heat as little as possible especially forced air heat.although A/C is also very drying..if you are like this now in the fall; Yikes...what are you like by the end of february...think simmering water on the stove...you need to drink water not bathe in it..
