Are women starting to wear their nails longer? Do you decide what length you keep your nails based on fashion trends or on your own preference? What length do you think looks best? How long do let your nails get before you trim them? How long are they now?

I have always done my own nails. I have never had fake one because I have such pretty ones on my own. I personally like to keep my nail a little long. I guess they are usually about as long as half of a button on the keyboard. I cut/trim them about twice a month because they grow so fast. Most women I think go by their own personal preference rather than the latest fashion trend.

My nails a a quarter inch or so above the finger tip. I don't go much longer than that. I keep them all the same length & keep them polished. If my polish chips then I remove the polish immediately, because bare nails are classier than chipped polish. Keep them clean by using a nail brush daily. But don't wear really long nails because it's just nasty & gross. All kinds of germs get caught under your nails & it's just disgusting. I won't let a waitress wait on me if she has long disgusting nails because I don't know if she's cleaned her nails well with a brush or not.

I would say about 2mm above the tip of the finger with a oval-round shape would be the ideal natural fingernail. Slightly longer for a French manicure is good. But with polish, it's important to constantly maintain it. Don't grow long fingernails though, it looks pretty disgusting. If you want long nails, get acrylics. However, I personally think it's so inconvenient.

It's still down to preference, But the " It " thing is nails slightly above the tip of the finger, slightly rounded, but not too much.
I think the most important thing is just keeping your nails clean and filing them when needed.

Personally I think long fake nails are ugly. I keep mine pretty short since I play the guitar but I like it when I look at my palms and I see just a tip of white. I usually just keep them clean, filed, and just put some clear polish on. I like the natural look.

acrylics are definately a no no. just above the tip of the finger is perfect. thumb nail can be a little longer. but if the nail is shorter than the fingertip itself or equal height, i find that extremely unattractive.

i think if the nail hits right above the finger then its a good length. the shorter nails are more in now.
