Multimedia tools are any software to create, edit and/or model text, images, sounds, music and video.
One of the strengths is the impact to the users to give them more (visual and sound) information and comfort to their senses.
One of the weaknesses is, that using a lot of quality on sound and video consumes much CPU resources.
You can see websites which are using flash, videos, sounds, music, etc. These websites are using multimedia.
