I have a 1989 Lincoln Town Car and almost every time I sit in idle or slow down to come to a stop it stalls. It's a real pain in the rear.

I agree it is most likley a vaccum leak. Check all your hoses for leaks by spraying the connections with wd-40 with the engine running.( GET Help) if the rpm picks up you have found a leak. Also just try and tighten up the carb mounting bolts frist.

it could be the electronic dash computer combined with the rear end singnal for the seepdometer that is messed up i had a truck once that did that (ford) and that is wut it did. also at 100k on highway speedo would jump around take it to a dealership as local mech can not fix it. it took them 4 different dashes before it was fixed right
