Try Bryant Lane - they have both stores and catalogs. And a very good return policy if you find a size doesn't fit or even if just the color doesn't look good on you.

In the UK try Evans, Dorothy Perkins or M&C all have plus size ranges.

you should go to torrid. they can be a little pricey but they have great clothes.
