It really depends on the statement. If it's a serious one ..it will get a serious reply. But , I have a sense of humor too and sometimes it oozes out.

Lip service: (example) making an apology not because they wanted to, but they were told to. In the case of a politician, they would do this as a means to keep his/her popular votes. Someone could be asked to apologize for something he/she said, but will turn an apology around and say something such as "I apologise that i was misunderstood", which is not a real apology but rather incriminating the public by making everyone think they're the stupid ones. That is lip service.
Straight from the heart: if one is truly sorry for what they said out of anger, and will make a public apology for what was said and possibly let others know that he/she was the one that misunderstood. :-)
As for my responses to questions in here? I tend to use "straight from the heart" tecniques. If a question is too trivial, i don't usually answer them, unless i'm in a flipant mood. :"> Which, I promise is kinda rare. :-)

lip service with a smile is better than a harsh word straight from the heart.

I agree with prince 47. You have to think about what you say before you say it. But I also believe in stating the truth, even if it's hurtful.

To the best of me knowledge, or as funny as possible, depends on the question.

Depends on the context. Who am I speaking to and why?
