It's what you feel that really counts. And if you want to share your friendship with this person. If you have the time and ability to do what you can with and for this person that's up to you. It doesn't seem like she's making it for you at this time in her life. If she's worth it you'll know what to do. You didn't say anything about talking with your husband about it. Since your friends husband is your husbands friend. See what he says. Or not.

the pain you have felt comes through so clearly, seems like you"ve always been there for her, stroking her ego, being a true friend for her, she was to you, when it was to her favor, the webs we weave can get so tangled up with feelings, love and emotions,I would back off, let her show she is putting forth a honest effort into your relationship, trust and loyalty is earned and worked on, best of wishes for you

Let her go and go about your business. If she is a true friend which from what you explained I would say not then she will come around when the time is right.

Well, if she meant a lot to you, you should probably try talking to her more... If you can live without her without regrets, then go on with your life... It's always hard to let a friend go, but I'm sure you'll have many more friends!
