Smart bridge has nothing to do with Internet Explorer. It is a diag software installed along with BT Broadband desktop help software. Since the BT Yahoo! browser is not compatible with Internet Explorer 7, it is displaying this error. You should be receiving the error message when you start your computer. To remove this error message, please try the following:
Click on Start > Run > type msconfig and press 'OK'
Then click on 'start up' tab and uncheck the option 'BT Help notifier.exe' or 'smartbridge.exe'
Click 'Apply' > 'Ok'
Restart the computer. You will not get that error message again.

I asked this question. I am on xp home sp2, this is how I solved it:- Open search click files and folders put in PSAPI.DLL in click search. When things come up, right click each, and go to properties, then click version, note the version numbers of each. Those with a lower number rename PSAPIold.DLL reboot the computer. It solved that problem for me.
NTL had told me to delete IE7, or Broadband medic, I did neither. Got the basics from this service, you can see the answers I got.
