This is so weird. That is how I want my earthly remains taken care of too. Everytime my family sees fireworks they would think of me. Very cool.

I definitely prefer a cremation to burial. Not so much the worms, etc, but I'd hate for my body to be dug up in 20-30 years time to make space for another apartment complex.
As for what to do with the ashes, I think your idea is a stylish way to go. I also think a lot of people are trying to be more original with that aspect of their funeral arrangements. I certainly don't want to be sitting on someones mantel for the rest of their days.

I'm not carried away with the idea of worms either, but my husband dies a few years ago and some things came up. Firstly, I was sure he did not care what happened to his remains either (send me to the Zoo and let them save some money on lion food, etc.) but my grown-up daughters were adamant that he wanted to be buried. I went along with their wishes and bought/was sold a double plot.
The interesting thing is that I now get a strange feeling of comfort and re-assurance out of knowing where I am going to lie, and my husbands grave, while we all know he's not 'there', provides a focus, a sort of 'memory spot, which relatives of people who have no such spot tend to miss.
If you want to go without trace, why not leave money for a tree to be planted, or a bench provided, in a favourite place, as a memorial.

I;d like to be sent down my local river like the Egyptians. My coffin would include various items from my life - not meaning much to anyone else but very important to me. I would like to be sent sailing with the strains of Elgar's Nimrod from the Enigma Variations - then everyone could go to the pub and have a good cry....

That's funny. I've always told my mother I would put her ashes in the 12 o'clock canon gun on Signal Hill in Cape Town and have them shot over the city.

Why in the heck would you want to do that? They have a thing called " Sky Burial ", look it up in google, it`ll freak you out but people really do it. Don`t get creamated! If you have ever seen it done, you wouldn`t want to do it, it`s very degrading to your body. Be burried. Either way you will never know.

Definitely organ donation for me. I'd much rather help some one else live, I won't be using them after all! I hope my family would feel proud of this choice.
