Maybe not quite as big as the beetles, but I think that they could have come very close. Queen is one of the best bands ever in my opinion, but I don't think that they could have been as big as the beetles.

Personally, I don't think the beatles success will ever be matched. Although they we're amazing musicians and produced some of the best music the world has heard, their fame was also elevated by the social and cultural changes that were going on at the time. Vietnam, civil rights movement, etc... They were huge however they also we're the sound of an entire generation. So no, while Queen was a very successful band their fame would not have been matched to that of the beatles given the time they played and their influence on music after.

I'm so glad you asked a question about Freddie Mercury. He was one of the greatest, most talented individuals ever to grab a Microphone. They were GOOD! But the Beatles had more of a classier type of versatile music.. They were also promoted more than Queen. But I thought Queen was great, due to the Rock, and the Beautiful lead man Freddie. He gave it all to you when he preformed.. Me personally, I go with Queen.. But the world will choose The Beatles. I love Freddie, alive or dead. He would touch you with his voice.

I think they would have came close. What a terrific band, and Freddie Mercury was an amazing vocalist.

Queen was awesome weren't they? I don't think they would have been as popular as the Beatles because I don't think as many people would have been attracted to their type of music. The Beatles weren't as rock as Queen.

Comparable to the Beatles???...you got Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, and maybe the Stones, and thats it. "Comparable to the Beatles" is something you just don't throw around. I respect them, but they just were never good enough to be as huge as these bands.
