G Washington, Julius Caesar, Hannibal, Scipio Africancus, Alexander the great, Napolean, Patton, Rommel, Genghis Khan, Attila the Hun or Macauthur

Alexander. He could've conquered all of the world but his troops lost the will to fight. He had great battle strageties

Out of that list I would pick MacArthur. He knew how to win with the least casualties. Since I would be a grunt that would be high on my priorties list. But if I had a choice I would fight for Nathan Bedford Forrest, or Patrick Royne Cleburne in the Army of Tennessee in the war for southern independence, like my past kin did.

Of the list presented most likely Rommel. He fought a major war on three fronts and if he didn't have such an idiotic leader he most likely would have won. He was just too committed for the resources he had.

Gen George S. Patton Jr. and of course Gen. Robert E. Lee.

if it doesn't have to be on the list then definitely the duke of wellington as he had an uncanny ability to be at the most important area of the battle field at the most important5 time. he was never defeated and in all but one battle inflicted more casualties than he received, his troops were well fed and supplied.

on the list however i would have to say nelson, who inspired men to great deeds of bravery, plus i always wanted to be a sailor

O man very good question. If it would be anyone it would be Hannibal. Because he slept on the same ground that his men slept on and ate the same stuff that his men had. And he fought with his men. He would earn my respect in a heart beat.

Scipio Africanus.

Hannibal would be a very close second choice.
