I am putting together a teen halloween costume for a ladybug. I have 2 tank tops (a red one and a black one), silver flats (shoes) with bows on them, and red/black tulle to make a skirt. I still need wings, but i don't know what else I need......also, can someone reccomend what to do with the shirts? I could simply layer them (but what order?). Or, I was thinking of cutting circles out of the red one, letting the black show through (a layered look for black dots) and possibly use black thread to show stitching around the circles. Any ideas/suggestions are appreicated.
Also, how should hair/makeup be done (brunette with hair a bit above the shoulders/with sidebangs and thick hair)

Thank you so much!

Your costume sounds cute. Cutting holes in the red shirt is clever! How about reddish makeup with a black circle on each of your cheeks. Use mousse or something to form two ponytails with red/black scrunchies into antennas (or do ladybugs have antennas?) You might even wanna use temporary red hair dye that you can wash out with shampoo. GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN! :-)

A suggestion on part of your request......
Instead of cutting a perfectly good tank top, buy some craft felt, cut in circles and use double stick tape to adhere it to your opposite colored tank top. Perhaps you could "slick" your hair while wet, with hair gel and "wrap" it around your head using long bobby pins to help it stay in place while still wet. Use craft chenille stems, also called pipe cleaners, to make antenna also held in place with bobby pins (or clips) and at the ends add small pom poms. They can be glued on the antenna ends. All these supplies can be bought at Wally world or a craft store. Good luck and have fun.

Don't forget the arms and legs.....use black stockings for legs and cut the foot part off the other pair of stockings for the arms....it'll keep your arms warmer .
