He said during a postgame interview with Chris Myers that he felt close to bursting, which was his way of admitting that he was very happy, even if it didn't show.

From everything I've read, he's a good guy, but one who likes to be stoic as a leader. He always works so hard to keep his team's emotions level through good and bad, usually leading by example. He'll show emotion, but I think he saves most of it for his players, coaches, and family.

He keeps his emotions hidden for whatever reason. He is a very intense guy, from all reports. Having a camera watching you all the time cannot be easy. Another thing is that he firmly believes that the celebration is about the players, the coaches and the fans--he tries to steer the media away from himself.

That is one of the things that made this Series so great--seeing him smile, hugging his wife, and seeing the tears in his eyes. He wanted the number 10 on his uniform to signify his goal of getting a 10th WS for the Cards.

He looked happy to me. He is the type of person who doesn't act all goofy. His eyes were welling up with pride and emotion. Try to look beneath the surface.

he is one of those guys who either has a neutral face or a pissed off face...when they showed the replay of that final strike out, they showed the dugout and he actually smiled...i about fell over in my chair because i have never once seen any different emotion from that man except neutral and pissy...it was kind of nice to know that his face could make that expression...
