The red X when loading games tends to mean you have to update your java so check out http://www.java.com and see if you have the latest.Or you have to change your java setting which should be located somewhere on the game.

it's probably because there's a missing plugin for your browser. Try and download flashplayer and java console, which are the most common plugins. If you're using firefox as a browser go here:
