Good luck, they are innovative little creatures. I speak from lots of experience. I winterize my house each winter and go on vacation and have no love of mice. Here is what I do. I buy plastic storage boxes with tight fitting lids. Anything fabric I also pack in it's own plastic bag. Now, the key ingredient. Dont believe that the plastic supposed air tight box will stop the little devils because if there is even a small air vent they can get in. When the box is packed, take duct tape or packing tape and completely go around the seal of the box to make another barrier against their entry. This is what has worked for me. Also, do not leave any paper available anywhere in your attic. If you have old magazines, books, etc, pack in the same kind of box. They adore shredding paper for their nice little nests.

Put things in a cardboard box. Place that box in a plastic container with a lid.

Use peanut butter to bate your traps. I had a buddy who brewed his own beer so mice were a real challenge. yet once he began utilising peanut butter to charm to the mice to the traps he became able to get them less than administration right away. good luck!
