I want one but my parents think its bad but I wouldn't put my real pic, age, city, state, and i'd make my profile private. So is it really that bad if I did all that?

Myspace is getting safer, especially with private profiles so you can choose to only let people you know see your profile. Myspace isn't the safest place on the internet, but it certainly isn't the worst. I would think if you made your profile private and only let people you actually know see it, you should be fine.

It depends on what you want to use it for. I'm 40 yrs. old and I have a MySpace page. I use it to stay in contact with relatives that live out of state. It's fun and you can express yourself in different ways by decorating your page. I don't talk to anyone that I don't know. I won't add anyone that I don't know. I can understand why your parents are hesitant. MySpace isn't bad, it's the people that abuse it that are bad. Maybe if you offer to let your parents help you with and make sure that they have access to it they might say OK.

yeah, not because of privacy issues though (which you may want to consider anyways), but it is just a stupid gimmick site with no substance, in other words a waste of time, you'd be better if you read a book, or went out and did stuff instead of creating a myspace.

There are pros and cons to it all on any web site you go to as far as safety. I was on myspace and clicked a request from a lady who i thought just wanted to add me as a friend (NOT) It was a sex bot and downloaded and installed 7 virus on my PC Virus burst,Pest trap,Win 32 etc i had to wipe out my PC and start all over,I loved going there but not worth it,Not to mention all the child molesters and sex bots no thanks but this is just my thoughts

Don't make one. You will become exactly like the rest of the trolls who are on it. 'Tis evil I say! Approach it not for surely it is a crime unto humanity!
