A girly night in with a weepy film. Give her something else to cry over and she can shed tears for the breakup at the same time. A good cry is really cathartic.

Hi, a friend of mine split with her boyfriend of 2 years and i had exactly the same problem! I found the more i tried to cheer her up the more upset she got and then i was just frustrated with her. I decided the best thing to do was to listen to the constant ramblings and let her talk it away. Also going place or doing things that didnt remind her of her ex was a bighel. That was about 10 months ago and she stiill get upset very occasionally so it'll just take time!

I made a tape for my friend when she split up from a long term relationship- it took me ages, but she loved it. I put sad and thoughtful songs on one side, and cheerful songs on the other side for when she was feeling more positive!

Take her to a club, the movies, blowling, shopping, etc. Get her to do fun things at places where she'll most likely meet new guys. Have a girls night out and just have fun!

be her friend, when she wants to talk, talk, but do your best to cheer her up. don't fall into the old trap of getting back onto the horse and finding another fella immediately, she needs time to heal.

can either of you bowl?
take her bowling it's a great laugh and even better if neither of you can do it

Thats a tough one.
Invite her to a sleepover. So its just a girl's night.I'm sure that will make her forget.Don't mention the word 'boyfriend' or 'boy' or 'man' or anything related
