Has the sound ever worked before? Has the computer been run over by a truck?

Keyboards are reasonably inexpensive, it's generally not worth troubleshooting them.

Best guess is that you need a different, possibly previous sound card driver.

I am confident about the keyboard. It sounds as though you have a different choice of country for your keyoboard settings. During installation it prompts the user to choose a language for the keyboard. Don't worry, you don't have to reinstall to change it, you'll find the settings in the control panel --> Regional and Language options --> Languages (tab) --> Details (button) and from here you can change the language for your keyboard.

As for your sound, well there are a number of things this could be. One is the volume settings for each of your devices. Again from the control panel you can access the settings --> Sounds and Audio devices --> Device Volume Advanced (button). Check optins properties for all the volume controls available.

Hope this works for you.

Try getting a new keyboard, that could be messing everything up. They are very inexpensive, around $20.00 can get a good one..

Sounds like the drivers may not be installed corrctly. Reinstall them and see if that helps.

You need to set the keyboard to UK instead of US settings. Try removing the soundcard and reinserting it.
