Capitalist ideology is wonderful. However, like Stalinist Communist ideology things get a bit iffy in practise. According to some capitalist ideologists by pursuing their own self interests capitalists ultimately are contributing to the common good. While capitalism may fulfil consumers wants a lot of people around the world are excluded from benefiting as the system ultimately depends on having an inexhaustible supply of cheap labour and resources. Having said that even Karl Marx paid capitalism a backhanded compliment by pointing out that the system has unleashed fantastically productive forces unknown in any other era of history and liberated the masses from what he called the "idiocy of rural life" by turning peasants into proletarians.

Capitalism can be very good for mankind when it's balanced with a democratic ideology. The problem with RepUGLYcans is that they tried to tip the balance too far. They've gone out of their way to exclude Democrats from being involved with decisions, even to the point of not letting them know where meetings are held in the senate. That's just one example of how bad things can get when Capitalism is the rule of the land.

It has it's pluses but I would prefer a mix of capitalism with socialism. Socialism especially in the social services sector . Capitalism in the business sector. I am sure a happy medium can be found. Capitalism by itself is not good for mankind as it main goal is to make one person or institution rich not the whole of mankind sort of a survival of the fittest thing and that's not good for a civilized people.

What is capitalist ide wotsit?
Mankind would benefit greatly from the banning of religion, and making all suicide bombers stay in thier own country, leaving the rest of us normal people to live in OUR civilized world....

Who knows what's good or bad we have had communism, facism, and all sorts in between as long as its direction is free will then it's OK by me. We will never all be equal, countries will find their own way and maybe someday we will get close. But someone always wants to be more equal than someone else. It's human nature no matter where you come from.

Doesn't seem to be. We'll know the final answer when we see how far China is going to go in dominating the world with their new brand of capitalism. The world has had us but the Chinese are coming. We didnt do such a hot job of helping the world so we'll soon get to see how the Chinese will handle this responsibility.

Yes, after all, capitalism is nothing more than free enterprize coupled with the rule of law, and protection of individual rights. Which is fully compatable with Freedom which I believe is the natural state of mankind.
No other system is compatible with Freedom. Socialism, communism and other system requires the subjagation of the citizen by the state. Forcing equal outcomes for all courses of action is not only illogical but is incompatiable with Freedom.

Not when it puts making money above people's basic human rights and needs.
Like the American system of having to pay for your healthcare or to see a doctor
Or mortgage companies who throw families out on the street because they are struggling to pay their mortgage.
Or places where children don't get enough to eat or adequate health care because its all based on how much you can pay.
The pursuit of making money should never rob people of these basic rights and needs. whe it does then things have gone very wrong.

to take a different tack i would say capitalism is doomed to failure as it needs growth to sustain itself. that means that once optimum growth of population is reached and the planet cant sustain anymore people it will collapse totally in to anarchy and wars of a global scale over necessities like water and food .
