Online books do exactley what it says on the tin. They are books published online for two reasons.

1. For easy distribution, often done by libraries for popular books but with few copies.

2. Books that authors cannot get published and printed in the usual way, either because it costs too much or it is a s*'t read.

Positives: cheaper, easily accessible, can be shared with many people, mistakes can be easily corrected, updated

Negatives: Can be removed from a server, change url or can "go down",
if published online without going to print, it could be because it is not a good book for referencing for uni/college work, online information cannot always be trusted as it is not vetted as much as printed work.

What kind of books are you looking for? Academic or entertainment??
