+ I know it's really counter productive getting kids all hopped up on a sugar high and sending them into the streets at night. I think we need to stop encouraging this by decorating our homes for this "holiday". One year I had over 220 kids at my door by the end of the night. Last year was my lightest year with only 120+. I guess I live in the wrong neighborhood as the Churches bring the kids from the city here by the bus load(only 3 buses last year).
(I noticed on your other question that you decorate your house Queen of Polls and Surveys) This is not a slam, so have fun, but if you encourage it you will have them coming back every year. I know people in wealthy areas that get 10 or less kids. Somehow there is some unfairness here, as If I don't have candy, I have had my house spray painted and worse.
I have 4 grocery bags full to be ready for them. (I guess it is cheap insurance)
Anyway Happy Halloween

Maby you are buying the wrong candy, You need to buy sugar-free candy, Doctors reconmend it for children now. With so much obeces, And any chocklet candy will always be high-pricesed because of the co-co tree. It takes 12 years for a Co-Co-tree to perduce beans for chocklet. Children dont need a lot of Chocklet because of kidney and liver problems in later life.Save money, Do kids a favor, Give out Sugar-Free candy It is sweet,They never know the difference...

Sam's Club, Costco should have better prices for candy. Or drive to a larger city where there's more store in competition with each other for the best price. Have a good time.

It's just the cost of goods. I am 58 and remember when as a kid you could buy a candy bar for a nickel and it was larger than standrad candy bars you find today. Also, it was better tasting.

Whoa... We only buy a pack of candy that costs about 4 bucks... We moved someplace else-- to a busier street-- and I don't know what to expect for this Halloween! I know that I'll eat most of the candy that we buy though! :-)
