My reply being chosen as the best answer among the rest of the replies and opinions - is enough motivation for me. Aside from that. there's also some fun reading about other's opinion.
For me, it's the best way spending time with your computer in terms that you are also helping out people with their need for information and advices.
Points don't matter to me!

First I came here to learn;
then I found out some answers are actually real darn funny, which really cheer me up;
then I got really addictive reading about people from all around the world;
then I found out even I could answer some question and help people. That's it, I'm hooked.
I like how impersonal it is. You ask, you answer, you leave. There is no room for argument, finger-pointing and conversation here. Just plain and simple, and very informative.

Helps me get a better persepctive about myself and others. Just knowing that there are so many people with such amazing minds out there gives me hope for a better world in the future.
I also believe that my purpose is just to help others and make them happy, hopefully my insight can help someone out. Even though 18 years of life isn't a whole lot, i've seen enough pain and suffereing in the world around me. It is the small things that make the biggest difference.
If everyone tried to share insight and help eachother out, just think about how much more perfect this world would be.

Good question! I like answering questions on here when they are insightful and interesting. Also, when answering questions, we are interacting with real people, albeit through the screen of the computer.
My motivation is learning new things and spreading my knowledge.

Good question. Personally I have been around this old ball of dirt for a while, t ravelled around quite a bit of it, and at one time or another have lived among people of just about every skin color, ethnic origin, belief system and social status. You collect a lot of knowledge about a lot of stuff. Seemed to me a way to perhaps give back a little of what I myself was given over the course of my life.

I don't know why the hell all these people honestly want to answer lots of questions when it is likely that they will get reported falsely for abuse, I have no idea why.

I am 66 yrs old...I have been around the world working most of my life...I have done and seen just about anything you can think of...I feel good when I can use my knowledge to help a serious questioner with their problem...It's not a case of points...I love to help people....simple as that....
