Yes. One word that's been absent from congress all of these years, a fundamental job of congress that it has neglected because the majority blindly followed it's leader like the lemmings they are:
Accountability.

This administration will finally be held to account for each and every failure, abuse, and act of treachery. There will be committees and hearings;the truth will see the light of day. Finally.

it will certainly slow down the damage being done by an administration unfettered by the constitutional oversight congress is supposed to provide. a republican presidency plus a republican congress equals no debate, no democracy, no real representaion for half of the country's citizens.

split the executive and legislative branches between two parties, partisanship will ensure that only the best laws go through.

one party domination is bad no matter who that party is. don't let the rightwingers tell you otherwise.

I don't see any solution in Americas near future to unite us again. Until we all stop the blame game and work for real solutions we will continue to spiral into chaos. Friends lets start now, we all believe our view is right, but you know no view is 100 percent correct, what is needed is compromise. we are the United States of America lets start acting like it.

it will make a difference of course.as they have said they will do,our tax cuts will be rescinded,we will run from iraq like scared rabbits, and why don't we legalize partial birth abortions and gay marriage while we are at it.rescinding the tax cuts will put us back in to the recession that was left the republicans but the all mighty clinton.i can't wait.

Democrats in congress will result in a terrorist attack in a big liberal city causing Republicans to gain control in 2008. Less Democrats = less votes. However Bush may sign an illegal immigrant voter authorization since he loves illegal immigrants, which might put the Dems back in power.

In a word, yes.

It'll stop the rubber stamp approval of things that have happened in the last six years and begin to reverse the trend of being "stuck-in-the-muck" as you put it.

If they DO get control, it won't be with much of a majority---so Bush could very well veto anything they try to put by him without any fear of Congress overturning it.
It will only make the next two years even MORE partisan than it is now.

The difference it will bring is that it will further muck up the buerocracy and hinder the political process, because a government overrun with partisain bickering will get no where fast, and no citizen can be heard over their own arguments
