Never let your dreams die! Get someone to help you. Practise stills photography and video techniques as often as possible. Get on a course that teaches you how to write scripts - the London School of Journalism is very good and does distance learning. Buy the best books (ask for recommendations) that tell you how to write, direct, photograph and generally produce. Often, it's those "small" ideas that produce the best films. It sounds as though it might not cost too much, so you might not have that much trouble raising money. All the best, hope your dream comes to life.

First just write down any ideas you've come with concerning the movie... then write down the characters and their descriptions. Do just a basic outline describing the story you want to tell and the characters you want to tell it. Then start on your first draft, by connecting each character to their part of the story. Remember when writing a screenplay as opposed to a novel. The details are not so important. All you will be writing in the screenplay is exactly what will be said/shown on the silver screen. After your first draft, start your second draft. Do this draft is 'scenes'. Remember, as you write, that if your script was being filmed, then what would the scene look like, feel like and write it exactly as it would look to the viewer. The only details you need are the ones needed for that one scene only. Scenes can be written in any order and then put in correct order during your almost final draft. Once you have all the scenes written and put in the order they should be seen, then go back over everything and play it in your head as a movie. Make any changes you feel are needed and then write your final draft. Use this final draft to show around and hopefully get filmed. Actually, Hollywood will buy a rough first draft if they think it has promise. Just keep writing, writing, writing! And don't worry if it's blockbuster material or not... blockbusters are usually that because of every reason but the script. The movies people will remember in 20 years are the ones that are more 'contextual', the ones that touch somethng inside the audience. Nobody expected Passion Of The Christ to make a dime. But, then it comes out and all these people can relate to it so it becomes this big hit. 'Field Of Dreams' should've came and went, but people just 'got it' and so now it's destined to be a classic. Never give up. Just keep writing. Don't worry if it's good or not, just make sure YOU think it's got SOMETHING to tell. good luck to ya! :-)

Go to a place like zoetrope.com to read other people's scripts to get a feel for how to do this.

Go to project greenlight.com to submit for their contest, and their director's contest as well
