Everytime I have sex, I bleed. Its not a heavy bleeding like your period but its heavier than spotting. Has this ever happened to anyone else and should I be concerned? I have been on the pill for six years now and I have already had sex so i know its not that one membrane.

You might have something called an ectropion.......it's kind of difficult to explain, but I'll try!

OK, the cervix has two different types of cells in it, squamous cells and columnar cells, and where they meet is called the squamo-columnar junction. This is usually inside the cervix, but in some women (especially those on the ontraceptive pill) this junction can "roll out" so that it's on the outside of the cervix instead of inside it. Then, you get more sensitive cells on the outside of the cervix, which are prone to bleeding, especially after trauma to them, such as during sex.

It's a non-malignant condition, and nothing really to worry about. However, post coital bleeding can also sometimes be a symptom of cervical cancer, so you should really go and talk to your doctor about it, have a pap smear. Incidentally, if you DO have an ectropion, they'll be able to see it when they do the smear test and they should be able to reassure you about it.

I really hope this made sense to you! If not, try googling it, I'm sure there will be websites which explain it in a better way!

Never happened to me, but I'd guess the bleeding is the result of tearing or abrasion, or possibly damage to the cervix.

If he's too big for you you should switch to positions that minimize how much your taking. Him sitting and you on top for example.

Maybe it's a bit rougher (more forceful) than you can withstand physically. Get him to use some restraint (calm down, be more gentle) or vice versa if that's the case.

Maybe you're, well, a bit dry down there or he just has a scratchy trouser-mouse. Use a water based lubricant, KY, astroglide and such.

If none of that works consult a professional about it. Don't be embarrassed any competent gynecologist regards an active sex life as a healthy thing.

One of the most common causes of bleeding after sex is a virus called HPV. It doesn't really carry any other symptoms with it. Lots of women have it and don't even realize it because of the lack of symptoms. It is easily treatable although not necessarily curable. There is a higher chance of recurrence if you have the virus and take the pill. They usually opt for a freezing treatment that is relatively pain free although it does cause some cramping during and after the procedure. I would definitely make an appointment with your doctor and get a check up. Hope this helped.

I think I would be a little concerned, call your doctor and ask them it might be nothing to worry about but you shouldn't bleed after sex everytime, or any if you are not a virgin.

it sometimes happens to me too, during sex, but it wasn't painfull, just discomforting.. but when i have my gynecological exam once a year, it bleeds too. i asked my doctor and she said i have a 'sensitive cervixs'. there is nothing much to be done with it. i just make sure i have some lubricant nearby (its less likely to bleed, or to be painfull), and i keep some tissues near as well. your partner has to understand that its not his or your fault. you are just 'like that'. but ask your physician too cause i know some diseases have such symptoms.

well hope this helped.
