I have worked this position for two years and when i was hired i had all the qualifications for this position. recently the requirments have changed I was under the impression that once you have been hired for a position if the requirements change this should not affect me only new employees applying for this position. If the requirments change after i was hired can i get demoted for this?

It would be pretty unlikely to affect you provided your performance meets the new requirements. If this looks like it is going to happen, ask for training to bring you up to scratch. It is always cheaper to develop existing staff than take on someone new.

It's their world. Sometimes they'll change requirements just to get rid of people. If you can grow with the business, you'll get to stay. Good luck!

that is up to the company's personnel manager to confirm...can you meet the new ones? Best to ask...then you will know your position....
