I mean, they sit in your garden by the pond but what is their true meaning?

I think they are mean to scare off naughty fairies and pixies in the old days.But now they give charaters to the garden(depending the look of course)like how "How pretty the girl is with that garden gnome!"

Hey! don't knock the Gnomes!!
The Roaming Gnome on TV does everybody a great service, by telling travelers where the best hotels and other places are, for spending a night while on a trip!
Although, he seems a bit clumsy--always getting rolled by a bellmans cart, or run down by a taxi-cab!

Garden gnomes are lovely and add character to a garden. I have four small ones- John, Paul, George and Ringo.

stupid human, gnomes don't have anuses. have you ever considered someone music a gnome by technique of checking for his or her stool droppings? Nope. same with the tummy button. Gnomes are born in timber so as that they don't have any umbilical cord.

People buy them for decoration. Elves and gnomes are workers in the woods, and all ways make sure that there area is nice and neat.

To scare off little children, mailmen, dogs, ex-husbands and/or wives, pesky neighbors, trick or treaters, relatives-in-law, your children, and racoons. Unfortunatley it will attract Garden Gnome Hit Squads.

They are little men doing security around your house and garden, they will stop any intruders from entering your property. they have powerful strengh and it would be a brave person that would take them on .
