I interested in purchasing an antique( bronze head of an African king) but I understand that theives try to sell stolen antiques online.

The key is to know the dealer. If on EBay check feedback and ask for references. If they won't give any, leave them alone, they are dishonest. Someone that has been selling for a long time usually has to be okay. Otherwise some one would have complained, or they would have got caught. Always check references.

Contact your local state police and get the facts. They can direct you in a legal way.
