This is a very positive and intelligent question - ask for a solution - rather than the mind numbing criticism and incessant bashing that seems to be the norm on this forum.

I believe the solution is pretty much up to the Iraqi people. We have given them a golden opportunity to create and install a government that answers to the people instead of the other way around. As we have painfully learned in the past, we can give them all of the military and humanitarian aid we can possibly muster, but if the people aren't willing to fight for their own rights and freedom, all of our effects and sacrifices are doomed to failure.

They can choose to govern themselves, or they can apathetically "choose" to be pawns of the Islamic terrorists - we can only do so much.

We must see this through and hope they choose to control their own destiny - when they are ready and stable enough to assure the terrorists are kept in check, we can bring our soldiers home. In the mean time, we must not withdraw early and leave an unprepared and untrained populous to fend for themselves against a brutal enemy.
Any perceived victory by the Islamic terrorists will inevitably lead to more terror and murder - and why not? - if the tactics are working.

And, make no mistake, the terrorists, for all intents and purposes, have already defeated Spain, France isn't far behind, and, judging from withdrawal time tables which are being implemented by many other coalition forces, the terrorists are only gaining more confidence that their tactics of terror are working. We must be resolute in resisting their demand:
You will convert to Islam - or you will die.

I don't like either option - and I'm sure you don't either.

The only real solution is to keep the members of the armed forces in Iraq. Show the people of Iraq the US is not going to leave until things get better. Kick out ALL reporters embedded with the Army. TRY to convince the Democrats to stop siding with terrorists and stop attacking the military, and the US Government.

Don't forget WWII, because who did we fight, Japan and Germany. Where are our largest military bases in that part of the world now, Japan and Germany!

The solution to iraq at the moment could be more complicated but for the purpose of this cause i will only share two with you.1.raither than America continue to invest all there resources in weapons and military strengths ,they should put all there resources in improving the average standard of living. 2 .All the wealthy countries in the world should come together and stop the violent ,and let them rule there self Rather than imposed American government

1. Bring our troops home and get everyone out of there.

2. Let them fight their own civil war and whatever happens, happens. If we stay there 20 years, as soon as we leave, it will become a Muslim state like Iran, so we should save American lives and bring the troops home. You can't force a form of government on a nation that either isn't ready for it, or doesn't know what its all about.

3. We could always send in more troops and have more people getting killed like John McCain wants to do. This is not a viable alternative unless you want the oil to start flowing like Bush and his Big Oil buddies want. After all, that's what its all about ultimately.

4. I'm surprised Bush hasn't thought of this alternative - nuke 'em back to the Stone Age and let God sort 'em out!

My solution? Heh, yea it's all far-fetched cause i honestly don't think there's a simple answer to it, but man they should get some men on death row, dress him up in the most IDENTICAL double to president bush. Bush will rally a negotiation with the leaders of the terrorists right....and if they bite the bait and are willing to negotiate terms...then they meet in a nice secluded spot, and the death row inmates will be freakin stacked with nukes, so when they all meet up they just suicide bomb themselves just like those assholes do.....sigh* if only that were possible.
Nah but there's so much protest and political rebellion amongst so many groups in iraq it's kinda hard to decipher who's the main player in all of this....it's random. And their idea of warfare is suicide bombing and IEDs (), it's almost like it was in Serbia and Vietnam, except a more complicated version of it. Ending it would just give alot of Americans the same ambiguous reaction as it did with Vietnam, so the only way to end it, is to...well damn END it. Stabilizing the country of all the anarchy, killing off enough terrorist leaders that the bastards will stop trying to revolt and create their uprising through their destructive process....and then get us out of there so we can focus on other things....(or until somebody else decides to have a pissy fit and get us involved.).

Foreign troops should withdraw, because they have no business there anyway. The democratic forces in Iraq should be supported, but let to fight for their own rights as they see them. Economic measures could be used to demonstrate that if Iraq wants to be part of the international community, some rules should be observed.

There is no solution other than Nuclear War at this stage, if Iraq becomes a democracy the first thing they will do is inflict revenge on Britian and America for killing over 1million of it's citizens.....as for what happens when Iran nukes Israel god only knows how there going to fix that one....

Simple: Tell the Talibani regime that they have one calender year to get ready, recruit their defense force, do whatever they need to do because we are OTH after that time. If they are smart, they will strive to incorporate all factions of the country's population into the government. If they are not, they will fail. Either way, it will no longer be a function of the US military to police Iraq.
