Hi, has anyone stayed at any of these lodges. We are headed to San Diego soon for a week vacation. We are considering staying in one of the Navy Lodges. I would love input on them.

The Navy Lodge at North Island is in a great location, right on the beach, otherwise it's like any other Navy Lodge. It's in Coronado, which is a great tourist destination and one of my favorite towns in San Diego. Getting a room there is almost impossible without orders, though. The Navy Lodge at Naval Station San Diego is okay, and not in a great part of town. I would suggest a hotel rather than staying there. I'm sorry to say that I don't have any info on Miramar.

Stayed at the NL NI; as someone else put it it's in a great location: Silver Strand, Coronado, on the beach. But just about impossible to get iinto.

As a retired Navy man, I am sorry to say I agree with the others who recommend you find a nice civilian motel to stay in. They are better kept and located in better sites than most, if not all, Navy and other military lodges.

Go online and look up motels, prices, locations...I think you'll find some great bargains for San Diego, especially now that we're in off-season. After I retired, I frequently stayed in the motel right across the street from the Del Coronado. It was modestly priced and located in a great tourist area near the beach in Coronado.

We stayed at the Navy lodge in San Diego and Everett, Wa. Stayed for one night at each one then moved to a local hotel. If you don't need to be near base I would suggest that you just go straight to a hotel.
