Is someone who knows lots of facts and can retain information intelligent or is there far much more to it than that?
What about being clever? How do you define a clever person from someone who isn't as clever?

There is more than one type of intelligence. Someone who can't read could be a brilliant engineer or artist. It depends on what kind of intelligence you are referring to...Being quick of the mind, or clever, is one type of intelligence. Hopefully every person has some type of intelligence, even if it isn't book smarts, they could be an excellent conversationalist, a brilliant public speaker, and what type of intelligence a person has really determines who they are.

What do you mean about defining a clever person vs. a non-clever person? What would be the point of that? Every one has their own strengths and weaknesses and honestly it will do you little good to compare.

Intelligence is nothing but perception of things which are physical and metaphysical as well.

It doesnt relate to knowing lot of facts. Most of the famous leaders and saints didnt know about lot of facts. Were they not intelligent ?

Intelligence is meant to be shared with the people. A person not sharing his intelligence is in fact not intelligent.

Being clever doesnt always mean being intelligent.

A monkey is very clever animal but has no intelligence. Therefore there is no relation between intelligence and cleverness.

Bieng clever is rather being selfish, a person who over rides others interests.

Therefore a person who is clever may also be intelligent like the one who isnt.
