Awesome driver! Always used to stay out on slicks in the wet a lot longer than anyone else and still be able to go as fast.
Shame he's not been able to be a success in the DTM, but he's apparently in negotiations to continue in the series next year despite already announcing his retirement!

Oh yeah, he's absolutely one of my favorites! So great in the rain, he had raindrops painted on the top of his helmet. Number 27 with Ferrari. When my brother raced karts his number was 27 because of Alesi.

I first saw him at Brands Hatch in 1989 when he was driving for Eddie Jordan's F3000 team. He won that race after a close battle with his team-mate, Martin Donnelly and was crowned series champion at the end of the season. Of course he also raced a partial season in Formula One that year with Tyrrell, making his debut at the French Grand Prix.

I do remeber him, and he was a good driver. Well, he didn't have the best car and couldn't get the best results but he was good. I personally liked him.
