Great idea. Place the stocks in the middle of a roundabout so all can see the @rsehole. Saves time and money for the courts. Embarrassment is a subtle but effective punishment.

When my auntie lived in the Isle Of Man a few years ago , there was still public birching. While on holiday there , a lad of about 19 , a visitor to the island, broke into someones home.He was caught and publically birched in front of about 50 onlookers. I thought at first it was a terrible thing to witness but with hinsight it did stop anyone else even thinking about breaking the law.In these days of paedophiles,etc getting sentenced to a prison term ,where lets face it, they are looked after ( in case any other prisoner attacks them ) Bring back stocks so the scum can be public punished for their crimes and then send them to prison.

What a wonderful idea.
It would also help the local economy if you put the stocks in the main st. people would flock in to see it.
I can just hear the human rights idiots. maybe we could have stocks for them as well, even better.
Can you imagine the local scum bags being pelted with rotten food and not being able to do anything about it. At least I can smile at the thought.
