Can Federer win the grand slam, or will Nadal be able to launch a challenge? Can any of the rest of the pack awake from their sleep?

In the womens game can Sharapova or even Kuznetsova or Petrova challenge for number 1?
Will Henin Hardenne be back to her best?
Or will Mauresmo go from strength to strength?
Can Hingis or even the Williams sisters start winning again?

cwmtenpro the great predicts for this upcoming year of ATP and WTA tennis:

...federer will not win a grand slam

..nadal will win the french open and make appearances at the finals of the Austrailian maybe even Wimbledon and US Open

...roddick will slip back intho the spotlight after some big wins on tour but won't beat federer

...blake will perform better than roddick and the other americans

...nalbandian and ljubicic will slip in rankings and switch with nikolay davydenko and fernando gonzalez

...several players including marcos baghdatis, tomas berdych, sebastien grosjean, dominik hrbaty, and tommy haas will advance in the rankings

...in the womens tour

...mauresmo will not remain on top, she will not defend her Austrailian title. Wimbledon maybe.

...henin hardenne will take the top spot

...cjlisters will remain high in the rankings but will not likely win a major

...hingis will go higher in the rankings but will not make it past the semis at a major

...the williams sisters, don't even ask. they won't make any sort of impact on the tour. venus though might be able to attract some attention by making an appearance in a semi along the way

...mary pierce and linsay davenport will either be sidelined by injuries and/or retire. or will have great seasons.

...look for players like nicole vaidisova, dinara safina, and daniela hantuchova to breakthrough into the upper ranks

hope this will be accurate.

Federers Grand Slam is quite possible, but Nadal will probably stop him at the French Open. Nadal had a great run at Wimbledon this year lets hope that he can pull off another run to the finals again this year ya? David Nalbandian and Ivan Ljubicic are solid players, but once Marat Safin gets his game together again it will be difficult for Federer to maintain that No.1 spot. Blake wont touch No.1 but he will remain in the Top 10, Andy Roddick's closing the gap but i doubt even with the help of Courier he will be able to knock Federer off. Ah if only Agassi were still here and a couple years younger he would be able punish the players at the Top 10.

On the Womens side Sharapova will most likely be a candidate to challenge Mauresmo. Petrova will be my seconde bet if Sharapova gets injured or something. Henin Hardenne will play well but not better than Mauresmo and she will most likely not be able to topple anyone significant. Williams sisters injured but not gone predict a nice leap into the Top 10 again for Serena or Venus.

no way federer will not win a grand slam cos nadal will surely win the french open.
if others have a chance it is only in the australian open.
sharapova may challenge for no.1 but petrova and kuznetsova have no chance.
i suppose henin hardenne will come back to her best and show her abilities.she will most probably atleast win the french open.
i cant see a great year for mauresmo.
hingis may get minor victories but no major slams coming her way.
as for the williams sisters their time is over.maybe a break from tennis will recharge them.

I think Federer will win the three slams he won this year again. Nadal will reign supreme on clay and maybe extend his winning streak to 80+.
In the women's probably the top three ranked players namely Mauresmo, Sharapova and Henin will dominate the field but if they get injured probably there will be another Russian who will emerge in the scene most likely Petrova, Dementieva, Chakvetadze or maybe even Safina and Kirilenko,

At this point any and all predictions are possible, but these predictions are doubtful. I do agree with the AFC title game though. These are my current predictions based on the returning veterans, projecting which underrated players might step up and make an impact, draft, players still holding out and over all off-season of all the teams. As the regular season gets closer I reserve the right to change these picks based on things that might happen, such as trades, injuries and contract disputes. AFC East: 1. Patriots 2. Bills 3. Dolphins 4. Jets AFC North: 1. Ravens 2. Bengals 3. Browns 4. Steelers AFC South: 1. Texans 2. Jaguars 3. Titans 4. Colts AFC West: 1. Broncos 2. Chargers 3. Chiefs 4. Raiders AFC Championship Game: Texans over Patriots

technically, to complete a grand slam, all federer would have to do is win the next australian open and the french open - then he would have all the titles. i think he'll do it. i think mauresmo and sharapova will both win a slam, and maybe some more low profile players will win the other two.

Federer right now looks unstoppable,I feel the Williams sisters lack of dedication to the sport has made them has beens.
On the other hand ,despite the lure of modeling and celebrity, Sharapova remains focused on her sport and will be a force to consider next year.
No Americans seem to be on the horizon

I think Federer will win Wimbledon after a struggle against Andy Murray [let's hope he doesn't look so scruffy next season - and my Mum's a Scot - think's his appearance makes the Scots look scruffy!]

I think an unknown female will arrive on the scene and cause a few upsets along the way to the quarter finals.

Federer is still untouchable overall but a grand slam? Unlikely. In the women's game I think somewhere along the line Clijsters boat may finally come in.
