That's a very tough question. I know what it's like to hang on to pain for years, because I've done the same thing. I started counseling in June, and although it is helping me to heal, I know that it will take a long time for me to completely heal. If you'd like a friend to talk to, email me at love2hugu2003@yahoo.com. Sometimes, just having a caring listener helps.

I think first you need to figure out why you've been hanging on to this pain, is it easier to continue to hurt than to let go and try again? Try to put your pain into perspective and realize that it's not the end of things just because you're hurting still. I don't mean to minimize your pain, but after 8 years you really need to let this go and move on with your life. Hanging on to all of this pain for so long isn't healthy, if you find that you can't do it on your own, perhaps you should seek counseling. It is possible to move on, just realize that each person heals at a different pace.

You will be okay, just find some perspective.

heart will never heal...but sure the pain will subside if you move on.
